Troubled Times by Joakim Eide is a mobile sculpture. Troubled Times consists of three soft sculptures shaped like wepons together with an artists book shaped like a phone. The mobile sculpture is an interactive work, inviting visitors to reach for the phone to read its content. When the phone is held, the entire mobile structure sets in motion. In the norwegian translation, Urolige Tider plays on the word “uro” which means “a mobile” and “to worry”. Troubled Times was the project displayed in Joakim Eides Bachelor of Fine Arts Graduation Exhibition ‘Head out The Window’. Suspended from the ceiling in Room61, of the Faculty of Art, Design and Music (KMD) at the University of Bergen.
